Favorite Takeaways From This Episode
Lean into what you’re good at and advocate for your style of doing things. Not everyone learns or does anything the same way.
Find ways of learning that work for you, and also excite you to learn both inside and outside of a school environment.
Find internships or experiences in industries that you’re interested in to help you learn what you like about that space, what you don’t like about it, and the problems that you can solve in that particular industry.
Experiential marketing is more than simply an advertisement. It is about being immersed in an experience, like a music festival for example, that can be branded.
Make a dream list of who you want to work with, and go down the list to figure out if you have a connection with someone at each entity. Any connection, whether low or high level, is a connection that you can leverage.
Showing confidence and knowing what you bring to the table, in relation to what that company or person offers, will never steer you wrong.
A big mistake people make when they reach out cold is talking about themselves. Make it about them, and how they can use your platform for their good, and be a mentor to you and your audience.
You have to earn the right to ask someone for a favor.
When building your team, it’s important to rally around your team-members and make them feel like humans above anything else. It’s so important to make your team members feel valuable and give them a platform to do what they love.
Be genuinely curious. It's important to seek feedback and adapt in order to see success in business.
