What the heck is a favicon? We promise you already know what it is, even if you weren't sure it had a name. Look at all your tabs open on your browser... see the logo next to the page title? That, dear friends, is a favicon. If you are anything like us, you have approximately 1,000 tabs open at a single time. Having a favicon for your site makes it SO much easier to stay organized and easily hop between sites.
Why You Should Set Up Your Own Favicon
Before we uploaded our own favicon, the default was the Kajabi logo (our domain's host site). While we LOVE Kajabi, this made it really confusing for us to determine which was our site and which wasn't. Not exactly efficient when you're trying to get your work done. Now that we have changed the favicon, not only has it become easier to locate our pages among our many other tabs, but it really feels like our online branding is more complete! Just by adding this little logo you are making it easier for your online audience to recognize and locate you, which only strengthens your overall branding and actually improves your SEO as well.
Favicons also make your site appear more credible! If you were going to buy plane tickets and you had to choose from a site with no favicon versus a site with the Southwest Airlines favicon, we can be almost 100% certain you would choose Southwest. Just by adding this icon you are taking the extra step in letting your audience know you are a reliable source for them. How To Change Your Favicon For A Specific Page In Kajabi!
- Under the 'Website' section, click 'Pages'
- When you have found the webpage you would like to change the favicon for, click 'Customize'
- In the lefthand tool bar, go to 'Settings' and click 'Favicon'
- Click 'Select Image' and then 'Upload a New File'
- Drag or select the logo you would like to become your favicon
- Click 'Save'
- You will now be able to see that your logo has been uploaded
- Click 'Save' again for good measure
The favicon should be good-to-go right away, so type in the web address into your search bar and see your icon working in action!
How To Change Your Favicon For Your Domain Pages In Kajabi!
- Under the 'Website' section, click 'Design'
- Click 'Customize' for the page you would like to edit
- In the lefthand tool bar, go to 'Settings' and click 'Favicon'
- Click 'Select Image' and then 'Upload a New File'
- Drag or select the logo you would like to become your favicon
- Click 'Save'
- Once you see that your logo has been uploaded, click 'Save' again
- You can switch the domain pages your editing (i.e home page, library, blog, 404 page, etc.) by clicking the drop down menu on the bottom left and selecting the page you would like to upload your favicon to.
- Note: When you add favicons to your domain pages, it will automatically add the icon to pages pages moving forward like new blog posts.
